The calculator deliberately exposes a simple overhead factor, but commercial network costs can be shaped by far more than raw payload bytes.

Retries change volume.
Coverage, reconnections and failed transmissions can increase both data volume and radio-on time.
Commercials
Provider pricing is rarely linear.
Minimums, pooled plans, roaming, APN/VPN charges, rounding and platform fees can matter more than a simple cost-per-GB assumption.
