T Bruce Studio

Website Subscription Terms

Plain-language terms for the R499 per month website service. The model is simple: the website is public while the paid subscription period is active.

The short version

R499 per month, paid monthly in advance. No website setup fee. Month-to-month. Website + hosting + normal technical upkeep + basic content updates. Standard Booking Lite may be included at no extra monthly charge where suitable. T Bruce Studio does not process the client's customer payments. No payment for the next month means no public website or live Booking Lite for that unpaid period. A client-owned domain remains the client's property.

1. The service

The R499 monthly subscription includes the agreed website, hosting, keeping the website online during an active paid period, SSL where supported by the hosting setup, normal technical upkeep and reasonable basic updates to the existing website.

Basic updates are small changes to existing text, contact details, prices, links and client-supplied images. To keep the service workable at this price, updates should normally be grouped into one reasonable update request per paid month. Unused update capacity does not accumulate or convert to cash.

Optional T Bruce Studio Booking Lite appointment booking may be included at no additional monthly fee where suitable for a standard service business. Booking Lite handles the appointment only: the business chooses how and when customers pay and manages those customer payments entirely outside Booking Lite. T Bruce Studio does not collect or process the business's customer payments. Complex booking requirements, paid third-party booking subscriptions, new pages, major redesigns, e-commerce, online-payment integrations, custom software, substantial copywriting projects, Google Business Profile management, social media management, advertising, ongoing SEO work and other substantial work are not included unless expressly stated and may be quoted separately.

1A. Optional Booking Lite

Booking Lite is optional and industry-neutral. Where the standard workflow fits, it may provide services, staff or resources, working hours, live available time slots, double-booking prevention, customer booking, a private business dashboard, manual bookings, blocked time, secure cancellation/rescheduling and an Add to Calendar option.

The Booking Lite dashboard and stored appointment record are the source of truth. Email confirmations, alerts and reminders are notification conveniences and do not replace the stored appointment record. A temporary email-delivery failure does not automatically cancel or erase a booking that was successfully saved in the dashboard.

Standard Booking Lite does not include POS, stock or inventory, payroll, staff commissions, accounting, a consumer marketplace, loyalty programmes, custom mobile apps, bespoke integrations, unlimited SMS or WhatsApp messaging, or online customer payment processing.

2. Preview, approval and launch

A prospect website or concept shown before purchase is a private or unlisted demonstration and is not the business's official public website. T Bruce Studio may use public business information to prepare a concept, but business details, rights to supplied material and any required corrections must be confirmed before official launch.

The paid service starts only after the client has accepted these terms, supplied or approved the required information and the first R499 payment has been verified. The client may request that T Bruce Studio begin performance and make the site public as soon as that first payment is verified, subject to any statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

3. Payment and paid periods

The website subscription is R499 per month and is payable monthly in advance by the client to T Bruce Studio using the payment method made available by T Bruce Studio. The first verified payment starts the first paid service period. Renewal payment is due before the current paid period expires.

T Bruce Studio may use Yoco or another disclosed payment provider to process the client's R499 website-subscription payment. Where the payment provider does not support automatic recurring billing, the client must complete the renewal payment from the secure payment link supplied for that month. A reminder is a courtesy; not receiving a reminder does not extend the paid period.

This website-subscription payment is separate from money the client's own customers may owe the client. T Bruce Studio and Booking Lite do not collect, process, hold, refund, reconcile or distribute the client's customer payments. The client chooses and manages its own customer-payment methods outside Booking Lite.

4. No pay, no public website

There is no free grace period built into this subscription. If renewal payment has not been verified when the current paid period expires, the website service may be suspended immediately and the public site may be replaced with a neutral unavailable page. If Booking Lite is enabled, the public booking route may also stop accepting appointments while the website service is suspended.

Non-payment does not buy another month and T Bruce Studio does not continue hosting the public website for free. Equally, because the service is prepaid month-to-month, an unpaid future month does not create a subscription debt for that future month. Any separate domain cost or separately approved work already incurred remains payable.

If a suspended client later pays R499, a new paid month begins when that payment is verified and the site can be restored, subject to normal technical or domain propagation delays.

5. Cancellation

The service is month-to-month, not a fixed-term commitment. A client may cancel before the next renewal date by giving T Bruce Studio written or other recordable notice. The website may remain public until the end of the already-paid period unless the client asks for it to be taken down sooner.

No further subscription amount is due after cancellation unless the client chooses to renew again. A partial-month refund is not normally provided for a voluntarily cancelled paid period, except where applicable law gives the client a stronger right.

6. Domain names

The client may use an agreed T Bruce Studio web address or connect a separate domain such as yourbusiness.co.za, subject to availability and technical compatibility.

Domain registration and renewal are separate from the R499 subscription and are charged at the actual applicable cost unless T Bruce Studio expressly agrees otherwise for a particular client. A client-owned domain belongs to the client. T Bruce Studio may manage DNS and technical connection while the service is active, but missed subscription payments do not transfer ownership of the client's domain to T Bruce Studio.

The client is responsible for keeping a client-owned domain renewed. If the subscription ends, T Bruce Studio will reasonably cooperate in returning or changing DNS control for that domain once any separately approved domain costs already incurred have been settled.

7. Website files, design and transfer

The subscription provides use of the hosted website service. It is not an instalment purchase of T Bruce Studio's source code, templates, design system, build files, hosting account or underlying technical system.

Unless a separate written transfer or buyout is agreed, those materials remain T Bruce Studio's intellectual property. The client retains ownership of original logos, photographs, copy and other materials they supplied and had the right to use. Cancellation does not automatically include a copy or transfer of T Bruce Studio's website files.

8. Client information, permissions and compliance

The client is responsible for confirming that published business details, prices, service claims, opening hours, licences and other factual information are accurate and lawful. The client must have permission to use any logo, photograph, text, review or other material supplied or approved for publication.

T Bruce Studio may correct, hide or remove material if a rights, security, accuracy or legal concern is identified.

9. Third-party services

Links or integrations with services such as Booking.com, Airbnb, LekkeSlaap, Fresha, WhatsApp, Google, Yoco, social networks, registrars, transactional email providers or other third parties remain subject to those providers' own availability, terms and fees. T Bruce Studio does not control third-party outages, policy changes, account decisions or charges.

A business that already relies on unsupported features in an external booking platform does not have to cancel that platform to use the T Bruce Studio website. Booking Lite should replace another booking tool only where the client chooses to migrate and the required workflow is reliably covered.

10. Availability, maintenance and security

T Bruce Studio will take reasonable steps to keep an active paid website available, but uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed because hosting, networks, domains and third-party services can experience maintenance or outages.

T Bruce Studio may temporarily suspend or restrict a website where reasonably necessary for security, unlawful content, technical protection, abuse of the service, or non-payment under section 4.

11. Search visibility and business results

The service may include sensible on-page basics such as page titles, descriptions and technically appropriate search settings. T Bruce Studio does not guarantee Google rankings, enquiries, bookings, sales, traffic levels or any other commercial result.

12. Price or material service changes

T Bruce Studio may change the subscription price or materially change the included service only for a future paid period and with at least 30 days' advance notice, unless a shorter period is required by law or agreed with the client. The client may cancel instead of renewing at the changed price or terms.

13. Records, booking data and privacy

T Bruce Studio may keep the client's activation, acceptance, payment and service records for the lawful purposes of providing the service, resolving disputes, meeting accounting or legal requirements and maintaining an appropriate transaction record. Personal information should not be retained longer than reasonably necessary for those purposes, subject to applicable law.

Where Booking Lite is enabled, customer names, contact details, appointment details and notes supplied for booking purposes may be stored to operate the booking service. The client determines the business purpose for collecting its customers' booking information and is responsible for an appropriate privacy notice, lawful processing and the accuracy of its business-specific instructions. To the extent T Bruce Studio processes booking information on the client's instructions to provide Booking Lite, T Bruce Studio acts as the service provider/operator for that processing where applicable.

Booking data must be isolated between clients and access restricted to authorised users and necessary T Bruce Studio operational access. The client should avoid requesting unnecessary sensitive information in booking notes or fields.

14. Electronic transactions and consumer rights

Nothing in these terms is intended to waive or limit a right that cannot lawfully be waived under South African law, including applicable consumer-protection and electronic-transactions law. Where legislation gives a client a stronger cooling-off, cancellation, notice, refund or other right, that legal right applies.

Before paying, the client should have a reasonable opportunity to review the service, price and these terms, correct supplied information and decide not to proceed. Payment and/or another clear recorded acceptance after these terms are presented may be retained as evidence of the agreement.

15. Contact and disputes

Questions, cancellation notices or service concerns should be sent to T Bruce Studio using the contact details on the T Bruce Studio website so there is a record of the request. The parties should first try to resolve any service dispute directly and in writing.
