South Africa · CAPS-first teacher tools
Set an assessment, build the memo, quality-check the paper, mark against stated criteria, moderate scripts, analyse class results and decide what to reteach next — in one connected Modern Schoolhouse workflow.
One assessment workflow
Instead of using separate generic AI prompts, Modern Schoolhouse keeps the assessment, memo, marking, moderation and class-analysis stages connected.
1 · Set & check
Provide grade, subject, topic, term and assessment type. Draft the paper and memo, then check clarity, coverage, markability, totals, difficulty and obvious fairness risks.
2 · Mark & moderate
Use FairMark or Batch FairMark with the supplied memo or rubric, keep evidence attached to suggested marks and flag answers that need a human judgement.
3 · Analyse & reteach
Analyse item performance, identify likely weak areas or questionable items, then build a targeted reteach pack and evidence-based report comments.
For South African teachers
Assessment requirements and cognitive-demand guidance vary by phase, subject and assessment type. The tool uses the context you provide and is designed to flag uncertainty rather than inventing exact policy rules where the applicable official source should be checked.
This is an independent Modern Schoolhouse tool. It is not produced, certified or endorsed by the Department of Basic Education or Umalusi. It supports teacher and HOD judgement; it does not replace professional moderation, school sign-off or the educator’s final marking decision.
School & HOD use
School Moderation is already live. Upload the assessment, memo or rubric and sample marked scripts to produce an HOD-ready quality report with assessment, memo and marking-consistency findings.
Privacy & learner data
Remove learner names, ID numbers, school numbers and other unnecessary identifiers before uploading work. The assessment tools do not create saved learner profiles, but submitted text, extracted PDF content and images may be processed by the configured AI service to produce the requested result.
