Homeschooling · South Africa
End-of-phase assessment for South African homeschool families.
Already have a year of work, tests, marks or reports? Start there. We check what you already have first and only ask for extra evidence where it is genuinely needed.
Why parents need this
South African home-education guidance requires an end-of-phase assessment at Grade 6 by a competent assessor, with a signed assessment report.
The problem is not always missing work. Often the work already exists, but parents are unsure what counts as useful evidence and what may still be missing.
Our approach is simple: use the existing evidence first, then fill only real gaps.
What happens
Tell us which subjects, marks, reports and work samples already exist.
Why? So you do not pay before we know whether this service fits.
The checklist shows whether the evidence picture looks broadly ready for the next stage.
Why? Existing work should be used before asking a child to do more.
If the case fits, you receive the next-step instructions for the actual Grade 6 records.
Why? A professional decision must be based on real evidence, not a checklist.
The assessor reviews the evidence, requests targeted extra evidence only where needed, and prepares the final report.
Why? The final judgement and signature remain a professional human responsibility.

Plain-language answers
Not automatically. We start with the Grade 6 evidence you already have. If it already shows enough in an area, the aim is not to make the learner repeat work unnecessarily. Extra evidence is requested only where a real gap remains.
Because you should know whether the current R495 service is a sensible fit before paying. The free check does not make the final assessment decision.
It covers the accepted fixed-scope Grade 6 evidence review, gap identification, one bounded round of targeted extra evidence where appropriate, professional assessor review and the final signed end-of-phase assessment report.
We tell you before payment. The R495 fixed-scope service is not meant to hide hours of extra remedial work. If the evidence picture is too incomplete, you will know before the paid assessment starts.
The competent assessor. The free readiness check and AI evidence preparation do not decide attainment. The professional judgement and signed report are based on the actual evidence and the assessor's review.
The current fixed-scope service is South Africa-wide, but the present assessor scope is English Home Language with Afrikaans First Additional Language. Other language combinations are not accepted into the paid workflow yet.
For a standard accepted case, the target is a final report within 5 business days after verified payment and complete evidence. If targeted extra evidence is requested, the turnaround clock resumes once that evidence is received.
Before payment there is no charge. After payment, contact us as soon as possible. If professional assessment work has not started, a cancellation can be considered for refund. Once assessment work has started, any refund depends on work already performed and applicable consumer rights. If we cannot deliver the accepted service, we refund the undelivered service.
Official framework: current Department of Basic Education home-education guidance requires a competent-assessor assessment at the end of Grade 6 and a signed assessment report.
This service does not replace the parent’s responsibility for home-education registration, record keeping or provincial submissions, and it does not guarantee a particular assessment outcome or provincial decision.
